Let's grow Ontario together

I am exploring a run for Ontario Liberal Leader to bring back an affordable life. That means fixing how our institutions build, deliver, and govern, so that we enter a future of growth with pride and confidence.

about

Eric Lombardi

I am a finance and technology entrepreneur turned civic builder, and a leading voice on housing reform, institutional renewal, and economic opportunity for Ontario's next generation.

In 2021 I founded More Neighbours Toronto to confront Ontario's housing crisis head on. This organization has become the driving force in Toronto's housing zoning reform. In 2025 I became chair of Build Toronto, the Toronto chapter of Build Canada, a national movement backed by civic and entrepreneurial leaders focused on growth and stronger institutions. Build Canada has proposed a number of innovative policies, some of which have been adopted by the Federal Government. I have served on Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie’s housing panel, helping shape the party’s housing platform.

Raised in the Greater Toronto Area, I studied nanotechnology engineering at the University of Waterloo. I then built a career in technology and startups, including time in San Francisco, before returning home during the pandemic to be closer to family and the communities that raised me. After returning, I transitioned into finance and consulting, specializing in payments, banking, and the Canadian credit union system.

Today I am working to build an Ontario where people can once again afford a home, pursue a meaningful career, raise a family in security, and trust that public institutions actually work for them.

values

The future I believe in

I want Ontario to be the Place to Grow again, with opportunities for everyone. But since 2000, per-person economic growth has lagged badly behind nearly every peer as a result of managed decline. That has left us paying more in taxes and receiving worse services than we should. Let’s fix that.

Make the dream of homeownership real again

Young families should be able to afford a home before 30.

Simpler, fairer taxes for a competitive economy

Reform the system to lower the cost of building a life.

World-class infrastructure without the waste

Build quickly, affordably, beautifully and continuously.

Electricity abundance for an advanced economy

Clean, cheap power fueling industrial and climate leadership.

Invest in our world-leading universities and colleges

Students, academia and research lead to ideas, innovation and jobs.

Healthcare that prioritizes people not paperwork

More doctors, nurses, and beds. Faster care with advanced technology.

Education that unlocks our kids’ potential

Back to basics on reading, writing, math, and thinking.

Peace, Order, and Good Government

Uphold rule of law and public order with firmness and fairness.

Constructing the north, connecting Canada

Invest in infrastructure to unlock Northern Ontario’s potential.

Strong rural communities and shared prosperity

Ontario works when all of it works.

Beautiful cities and towns with rent you can afford

More homes, lower rents, and places people are proud to live in.

Focus on building expertise and pride in public services

Stop giving favoured treatment to insiders and well-connected businesses.
